Issuing Another Authorization on a Card

Modified: Monday, 14 July 2008 03:18 PM by billwilson - Categorized as: Transaction Center
Transaction records are kept in the transaction center for 90 days. If during this time you need to charge the same customer again, you may do so using the Additional Authorization function. This is often done to re-authorize an expired authorization. Edit

How to Issue an Additional Authorization

  • Log in to your transaction center.
  • Go to Virtual Terminal-->Search Transactions.
  • Enter any search criteria you wish and click Begin Search.
  • Locate the transaction you want to charge again on the Search Results screen and click on the spy glass next to the transaction.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the Transaction Details screen. Under "Additional Authorization - Charge this Card Again," enter a new Order ID, the amount you wish to charge, and select either authorize only or authorize and settle.
  • Click the Submit button.
  • A message will display on the transaction details screen, giving you the authorization response.
