Uploading with WS_FTP
With WS_FTP open, click the Connect button in the lower left-hand side.
Fill in the following information:
Profile Name - Enter a name for the site.
Host Name/Address - Enter your domain name.
Example: goemerchant.com

If your domain name has not propagated, use your IP address which can be found on your mgt console in the "Web Hosting & Email Setup" section. The IP address consists of 4 numbers separated by periods. Example: 66.84.53.254 |
Host Type dropdown menu - Leave default (Automatic detect).
User ID - Enter the username for your hosting account. Your username can be found on your mgt console in the "Web Hosting & Email Setup" section.

Enter "username%yoursitedomain.com" as your username. |
Example: info%goemerchant.com
Password - Enter the password for the hosting account. Your password can be found on your mgt console in the "Web Hosting & Email Setup" section.
Account - Leave blank.
Anonymous checkbox - Leave blank.
Save Pwd checkbox - Check.
Comment - Leave blank.
Click OK.
Two lists appear.
The FTP server files are on the right.
Local files (your computer files) are on the left.
Double-click on directories to open them.
Use the up arrows to go up a directory level.
In the directory on the right, open the www directory and then open the htdocs directory.
In the directory on the left, find your local files.
To upload a file, select it in the directory on the left and click the arrow in the center of the program window that points to the right.
To download a file, select it in the directory on the right and click the arrow in the center of the program window that points to the left. |
